Writing An Autobiography Made Easy by Paul David Pope

Paul David Pope made his debut into the literary world with the book “Deeds Of My Father”. This book reveals his grandfather and father’s journey to success, which is the story he heard all through his growing years. He explains that writing an autobiography is a very easy task if the writer follows some basic ground rules.

Here are the rules:

•    It is important to have an outline such that the writer covers all the portions of his life in a consistent manner.
•    Paul David Pope feels that an exaggeration kills the real story. So it is always better to stick to the facts and not embellish it with fiction when writing an autobiography.
•    It is not necessary that the writer should include all the thoughts and experiences of his life. If there is something in his life, which the writer is not comfortable to share with others, he can always leave it out.
•    Adding a fun element to the autobiography will make it interesting. According to Paul David Pope, the writer should not try to go out of his way to crack jokes as it could lead to losing the essence of the book. But adding a few witty anecdotes would definitely improve the narration.
•    The writer should write what he/she likes in his autobiography. All the events that he puts down should be interesting and appealing to him. This is the only way to ensure that the book will be equally appreciated by others.
•    Being respectful to all the characters is equally important, no matter what their role in the life of the writer was.
•    Paul David Pope recommends that clichés should be avoided to keep the readers interested till the very end.
•    Lastly, be patient and persistent. Writing an autobiography is not like writing any other book and may take years to finish. You have to be patient and persistent if you believe in your idea. Paul David Pope took 14 years to complete this bestseller “ Deeds of My Father”.

Following these rules outlined by Paul David Pope will make writing an autobiography an interesting and satisfying task and the outcome would be a beautiful book.
